Near the end of 2015, I started reading The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, and from there developed a greater belief in attracting oneβs desires into their life. The power of putting pen to paper in order to make things more likely to happen is also a belief of mine. At the beginning of 2016, a personal resolution was to start travelling more and enjoy new experiences. This then resulted in a decision to create a local travel wish list, for reference and for fulfillment.
Browsing through the visually-based Instagram network actually made way for the realization of many local treasures that exist outside of the comfort of my sweet bed. I previewed much more than just overcrowded venues and tourist-targeted attractions.

How to Start Travelling More
I proceeded to list places in Jamaica that I wished to experience. Most of them would be new experiences, while others were worth a second trip for better appreciation.
To date ~70% of the original list has been checked off, and even gained [a lot] more additions since its inception. The desire to visit a new country that year was also present, which was instead met with three overseas trips; funny how some things work out, huh? I only hope to do even more going forward!

I’m here because Natures Sweet Escapes shared that pic of your original travel list to her story and I was curious to see how much of your original list I’ve accomplished myself. For the record I’ve now done 12 and counting from this list. There are so many beautiful and interesting places worth visiting in Jamaica! π
There are! You can imagine I’ve stopped manually adding to the [now never-ending] list xD Just going with the flow at this point.
What you do is so amazing! I adore you so much. I basically do the same. I have a desire to travel and explore the wonderful offerings of this beautiful world, however, starting locally with what my beautiful country has to offer. It’s very amazing that you created a blog to educate and entertain other like-minded individuals. Keep at it.
Thank you π Comments like this are what keep me going! Travel as much as you can, local and otherwise π
Love your blog. Exploring one’s country is great, and sharing the experiences with others is so rewarding. I am more of Bed and Breakfast Hopper, always on the lookout for the best bed and breakfast in Tobago, which I have started to share on my blog, before I think about regional and international. Keep up the excellent work.
Thank you so much π I udnerstand what you mean RE: local 1st before regional/international. Doing what I can manage at this time. I know a few lovely bed & breakfasts in Jamaica if you’re ever here π
Thanks.
I can’t believe you don’t tick of Blue Lagoon or Frenchman’s yet come on J get to work!
Tek me nuh π
I’m so happy to have found your blog! It’s not often i come across a Jamaican female travel blogger. I started a similar blog 3 months ago from similar inspiration (mine was mainly from other bloggers’ inspiration than Instagram though.. I only knew of one Jamaican travel blogger b4 you and her travels are international, not domestic). I’m ticking off my own list but at a slower pace perhaps. I should share my list some time. We have places in common; I’ve been to some you haven’t yet and vice versa. Nonetheless, all the best to you and happy travels π
Thank you, so glad to hear that you’re enjoying π I realized that as well, didn’t find many domestic travel bloggers, and the few that I did mostly seemed to be in a hiatus. We should definitely link up, it’s always an experience to meet someone new.
