My very first getaway with my partner was a surprise 1-night stay at Couples Tower Isle Resort years ago. From that visit, I knew 1 night was not nearly enough time to fully enjoy the all-inclusive experience. Still, it was enough to establish itself as 1 of my 5 romantic venue picks in Jamaica! Imagine my excitement to return 6 years later and being able to spend 3 whole nights (still not enough lol). Didn’t get to do everything we wanted, but it was still a flawless “baecation”.

Room Service
Housekeeping and turn down services occur daily. Atop the cabinet will lie a layout of the various venues, room service menus, schedule for water sports and restaurants, and a spa brochure. 24-hour information and room services are just a button click away if you desire reservations or knowledge about pretty much anything on property.
We took advantage of breakfast in the comfort of our room, twice! It includes continental breakfast choices with the option of a ‘Jamaican Favourite of the Day’. 1 day, I had 2 breakfasts because the day’s favourite was mine: ackee & saltfish with callaloo and fried dumplings! Both occasions took no more than half hour to be delivered. On 2 separate occasions to our surprise, we returned to our room to find a complimentary snack and a bottle of wine. I’m not exactly sure if they were ‘just because’ gifts, or a little birdie told Couples Resorts we were there to celebrate but the brawta was definitely appreciated!
Pool & Beach Access
The Deluxe Ocean rooms are steps away from the pool and powdery sands of the private beach area. Floating laybeds tossed over lounge chairs make your relaxation choice that much harder: lay out in the sun while on land or water? Wherever you choose to lounge and swim, you’ll be sure to wet your throat too. Staff members sporting trays with cocktail specials will be sure to offer you a taste from the pool bar.
If you want to laze in the sun at a more private outdoor setting, consider enjoying a drink at the resort’s nude Tower Isle like we did! I gotta say, it took a lot of “nagging” to convince my partner to strip down in public with me, and I’m so glad he did.
Water Sport Activities
If you’re feeling a bit adventurous, head to the water sports area to see what activities are available during your stay. Each activity has set times and may include learning classes for beginners, so book as early in advance as possible. Naturally, all the activities are at the mercy of mother nature, which prevented our booked waterskiiing session. On our trip we experienced the Catamaran Cruise and Snorkeling. Other available water sports offered include scuba diving, kayaking, hydro biking, paddle boarding, windsurfing, and hobie cat navigating.
Catamaran Cruise
Ride the waves of the open sea to admire coves and beaches nearby. A 1-hour trip inclusive of alcoholic an non-alcoholic beverages has a deejay mixing a music selection for you to singalong and dance to. Once anchored, you and your partner have the option to stay onboard (like I did) or grab a life jacket and take a dip with your drinks (like he did).
Snorkeling
A 30-minute swim over a sizeable reef, equipped with a snorkel, goggles and fins. It is highly recommended to swim close to your partner (or others) as your time in the water isn’t accompanied by a guide, unlike the snorkel trip near Booby Cay Island (Negril). Unda di sea you’ll observe corals, urchins, and schools of fish, and maybe even more.
Daily Activities
In the main dining area you’ll find a whiteboard filled with a colourful collection of the day’s and night’s activities. Each day the board is updated with dozens of events you can enjoy at various venues around the resort. We ended up popping in at a booze-infused singalong session at the Piano Bar and a wine tasting last minute! You’re bound to pass an ongoing contest or activity of some kind at some point. Other guests are super friendly, so you always feel free to join in on the fun whether you intended to or not.
If scheduled events aren’t what you’re looking for, you could always test your compatability (or competitiveness) in the Games Room. Play against each other or other couples with a series of board games, billiards, and table tennis. It always came down to the wire between us, but I ended up losing every game we played lol.
Couples Tower Isle Dining
With an event-filled resort like this, you gotta eat… and you will. Outside of in-room dining you have 6 places to choose from, each open at different times but somewhere is always open. The main dining area is the buffet-style Patio Restaurant which’ll have pretty much any food type you crave. The large variety satisfies both taste buds and tummies. It was also comforting to know I could maintain a healthy diet with the options available; I didn’t, but it’s nice to know! The food quality at Couple’s Tower Isle’s buffet dining and pool grill is similar to that of a nearby business & leisure hotel, just on a grander scale.
Couples Resort A La Carte Restaurants
If you seek a change from buffet-style meals for dinner, there are 3 a la carte restaurants available for your choosing. 3-course menus are displayed outside the establishments for your review ahead of dining.
The Verandah is a cosy space facing the Caribbean Sea, and doesn’t require a reservation. Its meal options include continental dishes with some local flavour.
The Eight Rivers and Bayside restaurants are open on select days, less casual, and require reservations. Eight Rivers has an elegant, old Jamaica decor and gourmet dishes. The candelit Bayside restaurant is under gazebos tucked to the side of the beach. Its on-water location gives a sense of exclusivity and and privacy. The waves of the sea play in the background as you enjoy culinary fusion dishes.
Nightly Entertainment
In addition to the activities throughout the day, you can count on catching some quality performances during or after dinner. The talents range from singing, dancing, instrument playing + more, and tend to fuse both local and international art forms. Many of the acts take place on the main stage in the Patio Restaurant but don’t be surprised if things switch up a bit.
In our short time at Couples Resort, we enjoyed nightly shows on the main stage, by the pool, and even lying on the beach! Every night, performers had encore requests from the audience who seemed to never be able to get enough of what was already an adequate show. After the main acts, lively guests have the option of visiting the discotheque lounge to dance and have some more drinks for the rest of the night.
Couples Tower Isle Oasis Spa
Yes, you’re on vacation and that’s relaxing in itself. If you want to push the vacation mode up a notch you can treat yourself to spa services! At additional charge*, you and your partner can opt for couples’ treatments from the on-site spa and salon. The aroma from incense tickles your nose as you step into the waiting room before being directed to the changing area equipped with restrooms, a personal coded locker, bubbling jacuzzi, and sauna.
After changing into a white robe, you’ll be led to the central spa area where you may enjoy a refreshing citrus-infused drink of water as you wait. The canopied area includes private rooms bordering a pool headed by a Buddha figure. Once called into the rooms, your replenishing self-care will begin; we enjoyed a 1-hour couples’ deep-tissue massage.
As you may have noticed, besides the inclusive resort in Negril that SimplyLocal.life offers a discount for, I don’t stay at all-inclusives that often. Couples Resort Tower Isle is the epitome of value for your hard-earned money, and I would return for a 3rd time in a heartbeat once given the opportunity. Even after 4 days, we still didn’t get to do all we desired.
What would you look forward to experiencing with your partner here???
Let me know in the comments as usual. 🙂
