Charela Inn: Negril Beachfront Hotel
I previously visited here for dinner and a live show as a guest at Le Mirage Resort; glad I got to return for a fuller experience. The signature colour theme and spun fiberglass furniture mark the 2 organizations’ relation. As you step into the lobby, family photos and plaques put the establishment’s pride on display. From there to the restaurant to the rooms, its conservative decor and affable staff add to the comfortable Charela Inn vibe.

Charela Inn’s accommodations have an old-time Jamaica feel with accents of our traditional garb (the quadrille aka bandana) lining their beds. The spacious rooms extend to a veranda decked with thrones and a table facing nature, whether it be the manicured gardens or white sand beach.

Separated from other rooms, Junior Suites have an unobstructed view of the beach plus a feeling of exclusivity. They also feature lavish bathrooms complete with a jacuzzi.

Ideal accommodation for up to 4 persons, with a king-sized bed in the main room and a bunk bed in an adjoining space.
Le Vendome Restaurant
Charela Inn’s on-site eatery is brightened by colourful tablecloths and year-round hanging pepper lights. Its arched openings allow the gentle sea breeze in as well as a beach backdrop. Seating extends from within the cozy indoor space to an open-air patio area beneath the heavenly sky.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner options are served here, along with flowing drinks throughout the day from an adjoining bar. Dishes include a blend of Jamaican and French-inspired cuisines that are said to honour the owners’ nationalities. For dinner, Le Vendome restaurant boasts both an a la carte menu and a 5-course daily menu with 3 hors d’oeuvres (appetizers), 1 entree (main course), and 1 dessert!

Negril Jamaica Live Music
Le Vendome Restaurant seems to be at its liveliest during weekly shows, which also welcome and attract outside patrons. On Thursdays and Saturdays live entertainment takes the stage featuring jazz, R & B, and reggae hits sung while backed by a musical band. The ~2-hour show ranges from mellow to lively, and beckons guests to the patio-turned-dancefloor to slow dance and shake a leg.
7 Mile Beach, Negril Jamaica
On Charela Inn’s stretch of soft sands leading to the cerulean sea is a grove of coconut trees acting as shades for guests’ lounge chairs. Here you’ll find a semi-obscured massage booth, artisan souvenirs for sale, and water sport station. If there’s 1 thing I’ve noticed on my multiple visits to 7 Mile Beach is that not all resort beaches are equal. What’s great about Charela Inn’s beach section is it stretches a lengthy distance, creating ample space without feeling overcrowded. This stretch of sand is so0o0 soft and the water so clear; it’s a beach lover’s dream! I personally love the aesthetic of the tropical tree area that also helps to filter out the tropical sun’s heat and rays.

No surprise there, Shan 🙂 Their restaurant just reopened, and they expect to reopen the hotel by next month. Live shows at the Le Vendome restaurant are usually weekly on Thursdays and Saturdays, so you can keep that in mind if interested.
